A little fun with clamps

I've spent a few hours over the last couple of weeks and made these cam clamps.
I have 9 complete, and still have bar stock and pin stock for 3 more. For under $30 in materials, not bad.
These are the first cam clamps I've had to use. Three are made from birch, and the rest are cherry from a flat sawn 8/4 piece I had and cut up.
The jaw pads will be leather that I already have.
Fun!
Kevin

Those clamps may just be too nice to use! Good job. There is just something about making and using your own tools.

The top section is solid. The cut out for the cam is done on the router table. Some do it on a table saw.

What is the little semi-circular cut behind the cam for?

Makes it easier to get your finger under the cam lever, I think :>)

It is cool just to build a guitar but to build it with home made tools is especially cool.
