Hello! It seems to me that the LMI and the Stemac binding router jig work about the same way. However the LMI jig looks so much more well built and stable compared to that thin little aluminum jig from Stewmac. Has anyone any experience with either one of them, or maybe even both?

And, does it make sense to go with the whole bit set when ordering either or? Do I need it? Can I get it cheaper in a hardware store?

The binding machines are designed to work by keeping the bit parallel to the sides. This is done by controlling the location of the bit to the sides.

we produce 2 styles of binder one is the tower design that was originally done by Tom Ribekke and the other by Don Williams. As for bits LMI or Stew mac allows you to purchase the cutter and what bearings you think you may need.
