Just curious, What would you say were the most common radius dish fort tops and backs in steel string guitar making? Is there a benefit to one over the other?

I think 15' for back and either 25' or 28' for the top are the more common ones. I use 25 to radius my braces and rim for classical, and I have used both 28 and 25 on my steel strings guitars. On both steel string and classical I use 15' for the back.

Not a lot of experience speaking here, but I'm pretty much with John, 15' for the back and 28' for the top. I plan to use this as a standard for all of the guitars that I build (unless I build something that really specifically requires a different radius for some really good reason), I already spend enough (too much actually) on tooling for different guitar shapes, fretboard scale lengths, etc...

I use 12' for top, 25" for backs.

Oops, I mean 25' for top and 12' for the back.

Most popular dish is 15' for the back, those that use a dish for the top order -- most popular 28' followed by 40' then 25' We sell several pairs each week and by far 15' and 28' is the most common set.
