Binding Router Bit Set

Post by carld05 »

Last year I got a Rabbeting Bit set from Woodpeckers and thought it could be a basis to upgrade from the SM set I used for years. I found I could order more Collars (as they call them) and got enough in various sizes to match most of the depths of cut provided by the SM set. A retired machinist neighbor cut them down in less than an hour. It works great!! The three flute cutter is 1 1/2" wide with several carbide edges that can be rotated for a sharp edge. It cuts very clean and the collars are 1/2" wide and can easily be depth adjusted with tape. Here's some pics.
