CITIES
I was on another forum where the subject of rosewood and shipping into and out of the U.S. came up. This is an often discussed subject, with the conclusions seldom backed up with facts. I am under the impression that CITIES permits are required for shipping any rosewood in to or out of the U.S. That is completely hearsay on my part. I have never seen any documents that clarify the facts of that. One of the responders said, without any evidence, that musical instruments are exempt from the "rosewood" rule. I have stopped using rosewood fretboards, of which I have a hundred or so of, and would love to use them if I could. I don't because I do sell out of the U.S. and don't want to limit my market. So, anyone know what the real deal is? About 6 months ago I asked the local Fish and Wildlife about it, and they did not have an answer. Thanks, Bob
