Brand?

Anyone know where to get a custom brand made to burn my name into the back strip like early Martins or Wayne Henderson? Seems easier and classier than a sticker covering the wood through the soundhole.

I looked around a lot but there were few options for Canadian customers without expensive shipping and brokerage. I found one at Lee Valley Tools which was pretty simple, but it looks like they don't list it any more. It works fine but it is a little tricky to get it lined up square, and to get it even on the slightly rounded surface of the back strip. I am now doing the brand on the back strip (or a small piece of back strip) before I glue it in. And it is almost too big for ukuleles, but you could put it directly on the back, or the neck block. Here is one of many. Just search "custom wood branding iron" in the site. Also, in the filter, you can specify the shop location; by default it's set on "anywhere". There's a place to check united States. But you can put a custom location, like Canada.

They come in a variety of shapes and sizes, so scroll through shop photos. I've thought of doing something similar on the neck block.

I got one on Ebay. Seller was in China, so it took about a month to receive. Solid, machined brass. 4cm X 4cm. This is just for the actual stamp and screw/threaded hole to attach it to a handle or iron of your choice.
