Thickness Caliper hack
Not sure how many people use these but as I watched build videos it seemed like a good tool to have. Pricey to buy so started looking at DIY solutions, which made me wonder if there was a cheap, deep throated C-clamp out there....and yes, Harbor Freight has an 8" one, think this clamp was $7. Got the gauge from Amazon - then added some grinding, drilling and 5 minute epoxy. Think I've got $32 in the whole thing.

I built mine out of some oak I had laying around and an indicator. I can put up pics when I get home.
