Has anyone built a StewMac F5 mandolin kit? If so, what was your experience?
They are currently out of stock and no indication of when they will be available. It’s not a problem since I’m just thinking about future -rejects at the moment.
Thanks

Re: F5 Mandolin Kit
I know almost nothing about mandolins but am happy to see some action in the "Mandolin" section of the forum. I am toying with the idea of making a mandolin, though I would not start with a bluegrass mandolin, and I am leaning towards an Irish bouzouki. So I look forward to other comments, and to hearing about your progress when you get started. Bruce W.

Whoops. Guess I should have posted this in the Kit section not “from scratch”. I’ll copy it over there.

Re: F5 Mandolin Kit
I've only scratch built 3 F5s, it's a lot of work. I always wondered what it's like to build from a kit and may try it one day. With all the woodworking out of the way, it should go pretty quick I would think.
