Finished up my stewmac 000 12-fret and have been working on setup.

The issue I have is the dreaded neck hump at the neck/body joint. when looking down the neck, the hump is quite obvious starting at ~11th fret and ending about 15th fret.

I leveled down the frets in the area and re-crowned but it still is buzzing pretty good with action set at .090" The neck relief is about .008 at the 7th fret also. It makes no difference is I adjust relief either way.

Do I need to remove frets and re-level the fret board in this area? Not sure what else to do.

BTW the neck is bolt-on but I did glue the tongue down. The hump probably was not as bad before gluing but it was still there and causing buzzing

try this first
loosen the bolt and clamp the neck down in the block and retighten the the bolt. Check it and see what you got. If you still have a serious hump . you can pull the frets and relevel the board and refret. I think you will be pleased with the final outcome.
