I am finished with a Martin parts parlor kit (thanks Blues Creek) and have a question about attaching the bolt-on neck: I understand that the neck is to be glued as well as the fingerboard tongue and that the single bolt on the Martin neck is just a holder to facilitate gluing, but where do you put the glue on the tenon? Do you glue the end as well as sides of the tenon?
Also, I have done 5 other various guitars with bolt-on necks, all with 2 bolts and no glue. Is it possible to simply add another bolt and use no glue, provided there is room to fit the insert and room inside the guitar to add another bolt? I really like the easy reset capability of the nonglued bolt-on neck and have reset one other of my bolt-on guitars. All insights are appreciated.

Re: Martin kit neck attaching
Yes you can add a 2nd bolt and forgo the glue. If you glue you put it on the sides of the neck tenon. I think 2 bolts are better than glue
