I'm finally starting my KMG 000C, and want to send out my fretboard for a little inlay work. Who can you recommend?

Why not learn to do the inlay yourself - a router base on a Dremel, a few dentist's burrs (or buy the burrs from StewMac) and precut pearl from Andy Depaule

I haven't done any fretboard work other than simple dot or diamonds, but if you are thinking about inlay that spans the frets (vines or somethig like that) I think it is easier if you do it before the fret slots are mitered.

btw - I really do ask my dentist to save his old burrs, when I get in every 6 months for a checkup he has a little package for me. You can buy a set of collets for your Dremel that fits about anything you'll need.

As an inlayer I use solid carbide end mills , Dental burrs are not flat but can work in a pinch . I used them once and they don't compare to the end mills.

You are right, John, but the price is right and after breaking a couple of the expensive ones from StewMac I just asked my dentist for his old ones.

bits cost about $7 stew mac is way too much

ask them when you order. They also stock a .020 bit. I buy them by the 100's
