000 Neck Adjustment Nightmare
Re: 000 Neck Adjustment Nightmare
That was the charm.
Thanks!
(I did 90% of my fishing with a 5/32" hex. In the end, the 1/8" worked.)

Good deal. I'm sure that's a relief to know it works ok.
Were you able to improve the bow in the neck enough to improve the action?

Bruce: You might try taking the strings off and taking the small end of the allen wrench, put your hand through the soundhole and go UNDER the UTbrace rather than through the hole.

Looks like I'm a bit late. Glad to see you were successful.

Hey there,
You already said you were going to pick up a set of ball ends, but as I had a common scenario of not being able to get the right fit, I just worked my way through the sizes of these allen wrenches. http://www.harborfreight.com/18-piece-t ... 96645.html
Cheap enough, and worked well. Ball ends definitely do help when aimlessly searching for the fit.

Re: 000 Neck Adjustment Nightmare
Thanks, again, to all.
Yes. it was the ball-end hex keys that allowed me to seat the wrench.
The neck is straight again. We'll see how it "settles in.
I surprised my daughter with this build. As I said, there are a lot of things that aren't perfect, but in her eyes, it is.
She wants to join me on a next build.
I've ordered a kit from Martin... A Jumbo, with a 12 string neck and bracing.
I'll start a new topic on that one... (I really wish I had known about this forum when I was building the last ones)
We'll be trying some inlay on this next one... and I hope to do a cleaner job on the binding.
PS. I realize that the forum has sponsors, and commit to supporting those sponsors going forward. I ordered the Martin kit a few weeks ago, before I engaged here.

Welcome to the forum Bruce!
You will find a friendly and helpful bunch here. Post pics of your first builds, I know we would all love to see them!
By the way, for this little indiscretion:
Just kidding. Nice to have you here!
