Something else to consider is the weight of the wood. For example,building a guitar using Honduran Rosewood or some other heavy wood will result in a very heavy guitar if it has a back that is .100 thick. Even if the back and sides are thinned down quite thin you will most likely have a heavier guitar than one made from Honduran Mahogany. Just something else to keep in mind.
