My all Walnut build

Just a quick follow up to my new member post.

The reason for the all walnut is because that's all I had to work with.
It's going to have a laminated neck with walnut, maple and 2 thin strips of red cedar
The binding and bevel veneer is curly maple, the purfling and rosette are red cedar.

I wanted to try the cutaway, bevels and sound port without spending much $ because I knew I would mess up something.
So far I have around $50 invested, here's a few more pics.

Thanks for looking.

Scott

Scott,

Nice looking walnut, and very good looking work. I personally dont appreciate the bevels, but it is easy to see the quality work in what appears to be a difficult task. I want to build with walnut, once i accomplish the first 3 mahogany dreads.

Bravo! Great work. give us a closeup of the rosette if you don't mind. any pics of the neck or have you started it? Where did you come up with the brace layout on the top? Hope it works out for you. It looks like a combo of Martin bracing and bracing from a Classical, nylon string guitar. Will you use nylon strings?

Pretty cool Scott, and you can't beat the cost. It will be a real looker I think.
I loved building with walnut and have another set waiting. We will all be anxious to see how this one sounds with a walnut top too.

Thanks everyone,

This project is very much an experiment. I wanted to try all of these concepts so I used what I had in stock, whatever happens happens.
I saw the top bracing in the PRS Acoustic shop video http://www.prsguitars.com/detail/acoust ... pter1.html so I thought I would give it a try.

Rather than post a bunch of pics I thought I would post this link (hope it works), I'll bump the thread when I post more pics.

Thanks again,

Click on "Edit". At the bottom of the screen you'll see a check box, "Do not automatically parse URLs". Put a check mark in that box.
Remove the parsed, non working URL and re-enter full URL. Any questions, shoot me a PM.
