Darryl: For me side thickness is mainly determined by the requirement to bend. I tend to thickness to .085 or less although I have bent as thick as .095 but that depends on the wood. For me .085 is a good average and anything over that can lead to problems,again depending on the wood. Back depends on how you want back to interact . I'm quite sure you are aware of this,thick back-reflective,thin back-works more with the top.Depends on what you want to get out of the guitar. Having said all that I would go with.090-.095 for your back.Take care.
