Thanks for your reply. Your willingness to provide advice and support on this board are an important reason I signed up and started posting!

Have you ever built using alternative designs yourself? If so, were you pleased with the results?

Do you have a sense whether the nontraditional designs sell less because perhaps they're pricier, all else (materials, craftsmanship) being equal, or just too different for many people's tastes?

At any rate, for now I'm just out to please myself. I have no idea if I'll ever start making guitars to sell. Maybe when I retire (60 now), I'll consider if I've gotten good enough to try.
