As a fellow bargain hunter, thought you might check these out, https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07BDGYJ54?re ... asin_title. Look at the comparison items too. I got a set but haven't used them yet. These are described as classical tuners but none of them have the classical style posts.
Speaking of bargain hunting, I looked around on TEMU and found these tuners for half the Amazon price. My cheapskate voice got me to order them and we'll see what turns up.

I dug around in my 'inventory' and I found a set of 'Golden Gate' tuners I can compare these black-and-gold ones to. One of these sets will suggest they'll work better than the other, and it'll be interesting to see which wins the prize. As of now, I'll install one of these sets and if they aren't nice in practice, thanks to the advice I've gotten, I'll get Grovers and install them.

I've used the Grover 18:1 Sta-Tites on several guitars and have no complaints. I tried the Gotoh equivalents once, but one of them stripped a gear and I replaced them with a set of the Grovers.

Those gold-ad-black tuners showed up this morning. Simple, unadorned, nicely made. 18:1 gearing. Not much not to like. They look plenty good for my purposes. And the posts fit quarter-inch holes.
