Selling All Of My Guitar Building Tools, etc.

Post by Bill Cory »

Hello All ...

If you are reading this on KitGuitarsForum, John Hall has given me permission to post this. If you have questions, you can post them here or email me. (kitguitar at gmail.com). The List is being posted here first, to give KGFer's first shot at buying. Don't wait to order.

Recently, I have developed an unfortunate nerve problem that makes building impossible. So, after 13 years of building, I’m selling my guitar building tools, etc., all in excellent condition.

Some of you might remember ... In 2005, I founded the “KitGuitarForum,” the first forum for kit guitar builders anywhere on the internet. During the three years when it was being built up, I wrote a couple of books, which many of you have read. The kit builders' forum is now owned by John Hall and has been nicely expanded since he took it over. He's done a great job with it, as you all know.

Please understand that every item is exactly as described. Just about everything I'm selling is "used," but some items were hardly used at all, and all are in very good condition or better. I don't intend to take advantage of anyone, and I trust that all buyers feel the same way.

All that said, go to http://KitGuitarTools.com to look at what's offered. (1) Email me your desire to buy an item or items; I'll send a Paypal "PayMe" note after determining actual shipping cost. (2) All sales are final. (3) The first payment received after my invoice will determine the buyer, regardless of emails, etc. (4) Any duplicate payments for items will be refunded instantly when I discover them. (5) Items will be removed from the list only when payment is received. If I make an error, please realize it is an honest error; I will make good on it if possible.

Happy Building -- Bill Cory

Since I did not get much response from KGF, which was a surprise, I'm going to go ahead and post this elsewhere, because I need to get my shop tools, etc., sold. Thanks to the three of you who bought things from me!

This forum has grown so much since I founded it in 2006, I don't even recognize it. John has done a great job of expanding it and delegating to other people.

I just finished your book "Building Kit Guitars". I am planning to build my first kit as soon as I create a place to build it. One of John H's dreadnaught kits is my choice for the first. Getting set up to build will be a challenge; I have a wife and have to consider where she will direct that messy activity to happen. <g>

I will take a look at your list today. I really don't have much of an idea what I need, so I might have to contact you or others. Diane K on this forum has been very helpful in that regard, and I'm sure I'll bother her with my questions also.

Bill, I know how you must feel after having to stop after 13 years. I could tell from your book that you loved what you were creating. In a way, I have a similar issue staring me in the face. After about 50 years of motorcycle touring I am probably going to have to stop. Health reasons are one reason, but also my old touring buddies have also stopped....either due to old age (like me!) or the other less attractive alternative!

I've looked at your For Sale gear and I'm sending an email in a minute. I'm not sure I have your email so I will try to send a PM with the same text. I will be interested in the power tools you have. All I have are the usual cordless drills, a Dremel, etc. I was surprised you had no dread mold to sell; I THINK using one of those would be very handy for a new guy?
