Went down to Charleston, SC Saturday to pick up my two kits from Brian. What a wonderful guy. He threw in some extra parts, which was really nice. As we were leaving, he asked if I’d like to have an old, lefty Yamaha for the vets too. Well hell yes, of course!
Brought it home and started working on it Sunday afternoon. Its a late 70’s Model335 in good shape but needing a few parts and some love. l buffed and waxed it, replaced the bridge pins and the saddle, did a neck adjustment and set the action along with a new set of strings. It plays great and sounds really good. There is a small crack in the top that I’m going to stabilize tomorrow.
I’ve ordered a Hard Shell case and believe the vets are going to be really pleased to add a lefty to their inventory. I hope to have it ready for them along with a D-18 I’m finishing up by Friday.
