Grover 18:1 Sta-Tites vs. Gotoh look-allikes.
The other day I was tuning one of my guitars, and something kept slipping. When I investigated, I found that the gear was camming out engagement with the worm and dropping a tooth. It turned out to be a Gotoh tuner. I''ve got Grover Sta=Tites on most of my guitars, but I put the Gotohs on one guitar after seeing some Gotoh 510ss and liking them very much.
In my experience, the Gotoh copies/clones/whatever of the Gorver 18:1 Stay-Tietes are inferior to the Grovers and, incidentally, the Gotoh 510s.

IK keep wondering how the Wavaroy equivalents to the Grovers would compare, bu they[re out of my price range;

Your mileage may vary.....
