SPAM

Thanks to Jim Hall and John Hall, we don't see any SPAM on this message board. Thank you identical, siamese, alien not actually related twins.
Although we don't see any SPAM here, we do get quite a bit that Jim and John get to read and disapprove of so that none of us have to read it. We are currently using CAPTCHA at registration and a link to activate each account to prevent spammers from being able to register, but many are still getting through.
I am going to implement a few more measures at registration to cut down on the amount of SPAM messages that get through to the approval queue. Now, I know that Jim and John love to hear the latest deals on Gucci hand bags and where to get all that tasty Viagra, but even they don't need to hear about it 300 times a day, by now they know where to get that stuff without the advertisement.
One of the measures I am implementing to prevent SPAM is to delete any accounts that have not been approved yet. That is all accounts that have less than two posts. So if you spend time reading the forum, but have not posted; you should get your account activated by commenting in the threads. If you do not get approved in the next week your account will be deleted. In the event that your account is deleted, you may reregister, but make a few posts so that your account gets activated.
Thanks again to Jim and John for keeping this forum clean and free from SPAM.
