Sorry for being off topic, but saw today that there is a big dehumidifier recall based on fire hazard. Following is the link:

Note that Gree makes dehumidifiers for a bunch of companies, so check this site to ensure yours isn't listed. I checked, and mine IS listed. I had to turn off the dehumidifier, unplug, and file a claim. Now I have to wait for them to contact me.

In the mean time - anybody have any recommendations for a good 70 pint dehumidifier? We are having great weather right now, but in a few days, I am afraid the humidity will return. I need to get a new one in next couple days.

Consumer Reports does dehumidifiers and I follow this for business reasons. They always put Whirlpool near the top of the list, but I would look for a recent comparison.

And you are tight to look for a 70 pint model. The larger units (50 + pints) are more efficient per gallon than the smaller ones and the savings in electricity quickly eclipses the small higher cost. These things can cost $1 a day to run.
