So what do you folks think of the chatbox?

The dark background makes it very hard for my old eyes to read....

I think the font color is dependent upon your browser. Chrome shows white font. IE 8 shows white font. Firefox shows dark font.
Sean, could you help out with the font issue?

That could be it. I use Firefox and mine is dark and unreadable.
