Hello everyone!
My name is Jeff VanZant.I am new to the forum and looking forward to networking and sharing ideas with some of the great minds in this forum! I am currently in my first year of building acoustic steel string guitars. Like many of you I spent hundreds of hours reading ,watching vids and anything that has to do with Lutherie. I got started because my love of the acoustic guitar and my passion for woodworking. I was unsure on how to get started, I considered a kit from C.F.Martin but was discouraged by others that this was an endeavor beyond my wildest dreams. I wanted to prove to people that I can do it. Then I was flippin thru pages on eBay and saw this kit from Blues Creek for sale, it was a 000 Braz -adi top with all the goodies, I had to have it, yeah sure it was kinda of a high end kit for my first build, in the end with support from John @ Blues Creek and some patience I managed to make a really playable and beautiful sounding guitar! Yes it has flaws as we have all made mistakes along the way but the end result is a very nice guitar that I will have the rest of my life. So , I bought 2 more kits from John and with each one they just got better and they are beautiful instruments, so nice that my older brother took one to play and to this day I have not got it back!!
Anyway I just wanted to post to say Hey to everyone and look forward to networking with everyone.
Good to aboard!
