Guitar Maker's Connection at Martin
......is about worthless! <smile>
I had to wait while they were closed for 2 weeks around Thanksgiving before placing the order. Then after placing the order they said shipping was backed up so it would be a few days before it could be sent out (a seperate department for shipping), and over a week later, they can't say for sure if was sent and won't let me talk with shipping to see what is going on. Frustrating. I have a weekend coming up where I could make good progress on the 00 and may get to do nothing.......again!

Re: Guitar Maker's Connection at Martin
I have them , the real martin ones . Don't get too hard on GMC . The small parts was in the old building at North ST. It moved to a new facility in Easton. Gail and Liz were pulled to help pack orders over at the new facility as they couldn't have picked a worse time to move but they did .
Things are back to normal but now they are so far behind in orders and are doing the best they can. I have stuff in limbo myself I went out to find out GMC was closed . Merry Christmas.

Ok, that's it......I'm officially irked at myself. John, I would have ordered these from you in a New York minute had I ever guessed you had them. Not sure why I didn't even think of you when it came to rosettes. And I could have got tuners from you at the same time. If they don't show up on Monday, I may just cancel my order and place an order with you.

An update for anyone interested...
I stopped by GMC this week for some odds and ends. Though I was able to pick up some mahogany tailblocks and backstrip inlays they said they were unable to sell me any bridgeplate material, fretboards or bridges. No rosewood, ebony, or the like. Richlite only, if they had it. I asked why, of course, but all they could offer was that they didn't know.
I didn't press the issue, I don't always get invited to those meetings at my job either. But you should have seen the stacks of literally hundreds of fretboards with "Not for sale" stickies on them. Kinda sad...

They are probably waiting to see what happens with the rosewood and ebony the government illegally confiscated from Gibson.......
