I picked up this big hunk of Cedar from a job site a couple of years ago. I'm not sure exactly what kind of Cedar it is but I'm sure that it could have plenty of uses in the building of guitars, it measures 48" X 11 1/2" X 4", any ideas?

Its slab cut common #3 grade decking material -- and that's the only thing I'd use it for, save yourself some frustration. $.02

As inexpensive as lining is, I wouldnt waste my time trying to make my own and if I did I would make it out of some really nice wood, think I'll just use it for when I need some extra weight on top of something.
Thanks guys!
