Anyone visited the PRS experience?

For next weekend I received an invitation to attend the Paul Reed Smith Experience 2011 over here in Holland. First I was excited but reading the announcements I am afraid it is just a sales-talk.
You have to pay 30 bucks to get in, and that's no problem if some tech-talk and guitarbuildingfilosofy is involved. But I doubt that.

Anyone visit or heard about it?

I live about 45 minutes from the PRS factory here in Maryland and am embarassed to say that I've never even visited it. It's on my list of things to do one day.

Never been to an event like that, but I suspect you are probably correct. I'ts highly likely its a promotional event to sell more guitars.

For your $30 I'm guessing you'll get to see and perhaps play with their newest toys. If you are into that sort of thing it might very well be worth it.

I'm back from the "PRS expirience". In a way it was nice to meet the man and see 200 PRS guitars in line. On the other hand it was disappointing because it was a pure promotional event.
Interesting to see the man entertaining the crowd with humor, elegance and personal stories.

Looking a bit further he is too much of a media trained salesman. He sold himself. And THEY ALL BOUGHT IT!. Paul Smith turned into the Holy Santa. Only you have to pay for the gift. All in one hour of interactive entertainment. It was like a politician at its best. Believers, follow the man, he's got it. Crazy if you don't want/buy such a guitar.

Paul Smith has a point in making very very nice guitars. Guess he's a celeb now. Pity for him I suck when it comes to hero's and leaders.
