Which came first, is the question. Without some wood, no family :-)

I haven't slept for a couple of days - happens occasionally - so I've been watching Fox pretty much non-stop while I read a book and eat anything I can get my hands on - will not touch the (guitar) wood when I'm this rummy - and Fox is really covering the heck out of Irene. I guess this really is a Big Deal.

I'm gathering that Obama inherited this hurricane from Bush??

Well, they're saying we'll get hit the worst between 1AM and 6PM Sunday here in NJ.
A 600 mile wide storm. She's a big one. Potential for 10" of rain in addition to the 11" we've received since August 1. 30 to 60 MPH winds, etc., etc. Wet, soft ground + huge old oak trees = loss of utilities from trees falling on power lines. Thousands evacuated from low lying areas. No mass transit after 12 noon tomorrow. Major thoroughfares closed to southbound traffic in southern NJ. All Atlantic City Casinos are closed, so that's gotta tell you something.
It's gonna be a lousy day.

I live on the western side of the Chesapeake Bay and everybody is in high panic mode. Fortunately I'm on higher ground and am not so concerned about flooding at this point. More concerned about all the old oak trees looming over the house. Should be an interesting night.
