The orange one is Barney (no longer with us) and the black and white is Buddy, our boss.

We had a "Buddy" an orange Tabby, he adopted us, just showed at the house one day and took us in. One of the best cats we've had.

Yep, seems to be a common strategy. Our big boy acted like he was wild and had to be tamed, so we had a false feeling of accomplishment when he finally gave in and entered the home and basically took over.

Having been a dog person my whole life , I never realized just how smart a cat can be . It isn't about when you adopt a cat but when they adopt you .

Dogs pretty much accept things the way they are, cats however are scheming, scamming, manipulative, controlling, and everything is on thier terms and all the while playing "cutsie". Your right John, this is how they take over,it's almost sinister.
