Keep Robert Gleason in your thought and prayer

Post by tippie53 »

I found out from his son Robert had a traumatic brain injury on Dec 1st. They are not sure if he had a cardiac event or fell . He struck the back of his head while walking his dogs that he dearly loved.
He was active here since the beginning. He will be missed.

This was posted on FB on 1/14:

"Our friend Bob Gleason was released from the hospital today and has returned home under Hospice care. He never recovered from his head injury suffered while walking his dog. I am posting this so the many people that have befriended Bob over the years know he will be passing in the coming few days. I suspect the angels will be trading in their harps for ukuleles."

The poster hasn't updated since then.

This makes me sad. Bob has helped me out with Koa in the past and was a great contributer to this forum.

I agree - Bob was helpful to me (sometimes discreetly off-list, to point out things I could improve) as I tried my hand at ukuleles. I am very grateful I bought his tenor and baritone uke plans and will guard them closely. He was so willing to share what he had learned that way - and then apologized for having to charge me extra for postage to Canada! A gentleman for sure. Bruce W.

I am sitting here, feeling sad, not knowing what to say. Thinking of when my mother died, and what helped me, And the thing that mattered the most wasn't the words but just the fact that somebody NOTICED and took the time to let me know they noticed. So to all of Bob's next of kin, yeah, I notice. I'm sure everyone on this board does.

I am sure the family would appreciate the sentiments , I always knew Bob as a helpful , kind man. He made the work a better place by being in it.
