I second that. Every Nov. 11th (Remembrance Day in Canada) I think of my dad, a career soldier who served overseas in WW II, his dad who served twice in WW I, and carried a piece of shrapnel in his back all his days, and my mother's uncle, who died at Flers-Courcelette in WW I. He has no known grave but his name is on the memorial at Vimy. There are others, too. They all served so that I would not have to, and I remember them.

Our own Diane is a vet along as is her husband. She turned me on to https://guitars4vets.org/ which she donates repairs to sometimes. It brings the power of healing music to our wounded vets by providing instruments and lessons. I'm looking to make a trip up to the one in Indiana and make a donation.
