Elixir Nanoweb strings on sale
Re: Elixir Nanoweb strings on sale
For acoustic, the holy grail is the Thomastik-Infeld Plectrums. I had an eargasm the first time I used them. They are pricey, but they last pretty well and I've not heard anything better.

I've tried TI's only as flatwounds on my semihollow. They were nice but I can't play (nor will I ever, I suspect) anywhere good enough to warrant a jazzbox.
These I will give a try, once I build my #1. Mixing flatwounds with roundwounds sounds like an interesting concept, especially on an acoustic. Right now my only acoustic is a small Martin LX1 and it sounds pretty much equally bad(good?) no matter what I put on it. Thanks for the heads up, Dave!
On a side note, I do have a business trip to Vienna scheduled next week. I may pick up some if i find the time although I don't think there'll be much price difference.

So while we are on the subject of strings:
I have not tried DR handmade strings, but plan to.
Who has used them and what do you think?
Did we have a string thread awhile back, maybe on the old forum?

I found that the DR's gave a good 'non-generic' sound when I used them on my Santa Cruz acoustic. I like them and think they are worth a try. I did not try them on different guitars, though.
