Island Luthiers Show

If by any chance you find yourself on Vancouver Island (BC) in October, the annual Island Luthiers show, called "Guitars By Hand" is on Oct. 21, 2017 from 10 to 3 in the Errington Hall in Errington (near Parksville, BC.) The show has been a huge inspiration to me as I started, and continued, and continued, and continued . . . work on my first two guitars. The group is not well promoted but here is a link to hall events, and there is a "location" page there if you are in the neighbourhood. There are fine instruments of many kinds, some traditional, some leading edge, and a few tonewood suppliers are usually there too (lots of spruce, redcedar and maple on Vancouver Island.) I will be there, with any luck with two completed guitars!

As requested, attached are some photos of the 14th Islands Luthiers Show in Errington, Vancouver Island. "Islands" includes any of the islands around Vancouver Island, plus the nearby Sunshine Coast, which is closer to Vancouver Island than it is to the rest of the adjacent mainland. Also there were several staff and students from Summit School of Guitar in nearby Parksville. There were many more but it was just too crowded to get photos! Luthiers shown have web sites I think if you would like to see more. Remainder of images in next post.
