EIR/Appalachian Red Spruce Dreadnought

Post by Diane Kauffmds »

This is one of 4 guitars, currently under construction, in my shop. They're destined for the Old Time Music Heritage festival, on October 19, in Elkins, WV. I've been invited to a luthier get together, where my guitars will be displayed for the very first time.

Yes, I'm nervous!

This dread will feature figured EIR, with an Appalachian Red Spruce top. I've inlaid a multicolor back strip. This is the guitar that will feature my hummingbird vine inlaid fretboard.

It's 25.4" scale, with Martin style PreWar bracing. I'm entertaining the thought of abalone purfling around the top, but I've not made a decision yet.
