Short grained wood
So, it's a fact that we are not supposed to use wood with lots of short grain or end grain, which is what you get in curly wood. I've also proven to myself on camping trips that koa does not burn very good. So, guess I'll just have to keep using it! Life can be difficult sometimes.

Nice looking instrument, Koa is my favorite tone wood. That Koa top looks perfectly quartered.
