Yellow birch cutaway OM

Post by MaineGeezer »

I'm declaring this one DONE, finally. I almost took an axe to it a couple of times during the build (see viewtopic.php?f=48&t=7858) but it eventually came out pretty well.

Well worth the effort. The birch is so nice as is the overall look of the instrument.

A brief soundclip. I may get a better one later.

You did a great job. I know that guitar wasn't easy for you to build. It's gorgeous!

Rich and full, very nice.
Interesting, it played once ( iPad) but won't play again. Shows a bar across the play button

? I have no clue about the mysteries of iPads!

I am liking this guitar more and more. If it had a 1-3/4" neck instead of 1-11/16" I'd be tempted to give Eric his money back and keep it! Well, not really. But I am feeling as though Eric is going to get his money's worth. I was worried about that for quite a while.

(Eric is my brother-in-law who asked me to build this for him.)

I finally connected with my friend Jud Caswell (a local singer/songwriter and all-around good guy; see http://www.judcaswell.com) and had him try out the guitar. Here's a sample.

Dittos on that. The last sound file must be lost in Apple etherland; shows the grey screen on my ipad but doesn't show the player. Anxiously awaiting to hear the sound of birch. Or an ipad IT deus ex machina to fix things.

The .mp3 file works. I don't get anything from the Qiuicktime link either.
