Top and back kerfed and radius sanded. Layer out bracing markings on top and x-braces are glued and clamped. Will continue top bracing this weekend.

I was "close" too then StewMac put their kit on sale for Father's Day, 20% off. That was a hundred bucks. I've been collecting books and tools for 25 years so it's time. Expect not to have enough clamps.kinspeed wrote:I'll be following your progress. I am close to starting my first builds.

Re: First Build Starts Today
Its looking great. I just added 10 more clamps, which makes my total at around 20. I'm adding many more.
You can never EVER have too many clamps. Harbor freight is an excellent source.

Re: First Build Starts Today
Thank you. I would say passable at three to four feet. I almost ripped it off and started anew. But at four feet, it’s passable. The dots went to a black layer as I leveled it to the overlay. The more I sanded, the blacker they got. Was really beautiful on the top layer, till it got sanded off. I had to throw in the towel and call it done. And a tiny piece chipped out... you can see it in the pic. Thank you for the kudosDiane Kauffmds wrote:Excellent job!
