Guitar-free Saturday
This weekend Dover Air Force Base sponsored an open house celebrating the 70th anniversary of the USAF, the 75th anniversary of the Base and 300th anniversary of the town. Squadrons from all around the country participated as well as organizations with vintage USAF aircraft. A nice break from rattle cans. A few pix:

Since I took 1,600+ pictures, I might as well post three more...

As a person who thinks nothing of taking 1000 photos at a time, esp. When I'm photographing lightening, I understand the number of photos. Lol
When I was stationed on Seymour Johnson AFB, we used to host open houses with demos from the Thunderbirds, as well as from our squadrons. Even though I was active duty and I watched our guys flying their sorties everyday, it was still thrilling to see.
Thank you for your post! Very cool.

I made an effort to meet as many of the pilots and ground crew as I could. What a great bunch of people. Pictured below is one of the B-1B bombers (Lancer), a perfect tbird formation, and the 'birds, blowing out some smoke at the end of the day. The $2 billion Spirit Bomber made a flyby (no room for 4th picture).
