Lovely John. Are there differences through the decades in what makes a 45 series?

John

Could you give me the sizes of the various pieces in the top purfling and the rosette - what is the width of the pearl and the b/w pieces? Thanks

The rosette changes a few times from the 45 style inception

inner and outer rings
B/W/B/W/B .015/.015./.020/.015./.015

From the pearl out
P/B/W/B/W/B
.0625/.015/.020/.015/.015/015

through the years the 45 series went through changes. Early one use maple and ivory then to the white plastic and them to all plastic.
The sizes also changed. Pre 1900 it was a cottage industry with most being done out side martin. That as more were ordered Charles Angelmire became the pearl artisan.
The older 45's look crude to today's standard as each piece was set as the binding was installed.
