Thanks for the clarification on the strength of the fingerboard extension inlay... going back to and reviewing your youtube video, Quick Tips - Style 45 Fingerboard Extension, it does indeed appear a little stronger than without.

finally finished the body today
set and sanded the pearl did some drop fills and I am pleased.
