My J45 is done

Post by John J »

My third guitar is finished. It is a Gibson style J45 that was my first non-kit build. All in all I think it came out pretty well despite a few challenges along the way. Thanks for all the comments and advice.
Here's the details:

24.75 scale
Ambrosia Maple back and sides
Sitka spruce top
Bloodwood/Brazilian rosewood/maple end wedge
Bloodwood/Wenge/Maple back strip and truss rod cover
Bloodwood bindings
Maple neck
Wenge fingerboard with pearl dots - 12" radius
Wenge head plate with pearl inlay
Wenge bridge

Next one has been started!

Very nice guitar, John. I really like the ambrosia. What's your assessment of the tone at this point?

Its still early, but seems to have a good bit of sustain. Rings like my maple 00.
