Finishing Course for Lacquer

Post by jbjewitt »

I filmed a step by step process last year for doing a NC lacquer finish on an acoustic OM. It's available on Robbie O'Brien's on-line course website.
I made this as in-depth as possible and addressed as many of the troubleshooting problems you might face.
Everything from surface preparation to different methods of rubbing out are covered. There really isn't else like this out there that I ever found.

If anyone has questions about it - let me know..

Well I'll be, Jeff Jewett is a guitar maker and player! I watched the sample and enjoyed your music. I don't have a booth, a filter system or a spray gun. Would this course be good for nitro ala rattle can? The price of the course may be a bargain given the prices of lacquer in a can. I should turn to my favorite JJ finishing book and mine the secrets first?

Admire you even more now,
Measure Twice,

Yes - all aspects will relate to rattle can finishing. That's the way I did my first 2 guitars and I sure wish I had this information before I started.

Many folks think the sections on surface prep and repairs are worth the price of the course.
