This is number ten for me and my first Venetian cutaway. All in all I like the way it turned out.
The details:
Martin style 00 size 14th fret Venetian cutaway
-Spalted zebrawood back and sides
-Adirondack red spruce top
-Mahogany neck
-Spruce bracing
-Spanish cedar linings
-Wenge bindings
-Rosette, tail wedge and purfling made from wenge, maple and bubinga
-Ebony fingerboard with zebrawood binding
-Bridge made from Brazilian rosewood, Zebrawood and bubinga
-Brazilian rosewood headplate
-Zebrawood backstrap
-Gotoh tuners
Next up (after finishing my Bouzouki) is from the GAL plans for the Stahl style 6 guitar by the Larson Brothers.

Congratulations on a fine looking guitar! That spalted Zebrawood is something else. The thought of bending spalted anything for a venetian would freak me out.

Thank you John. Thankfully only the back had the spalting, not the sides. I don't know that I would have tried to bend it if the sides were spalted.johnnparchem wrote:Congratulations on a fine looking guitar! That spalted Zebrawood is something else. Beautiful, I love the back! What would you say the zebra wood is most similar to for sound John? Mahogany?
