Nearly foolproof nut slotting

Here's a write-up I did on using feeler gauges and a continuity tester to help get the depth of a nut slot exactly right. Most of it comes as old news to most of you guys, but perhaps you haven't heard about the continuity-tester wrinkle. Enjoy!

BTW, the patient being operated on is a mandolin, but it works for git-boxes, too.

Thanks John I have a large Collection of ruined bone nuts. I wish I new about this method before. What a good idea.

What a great tip! I too have a collection of ruined bone nuts hid away! :)

OK. I confess. I was in the pay of Radio Shack, who compensated me royally for every continuity tester they sold. But now that they're on the ropes, they're not paying me a dime. So the truth can now be told.
