6'x2" pvc + cap + BBQ ignitor + hairspray + potato = lots of fun. take it to a cornfield or lake to really see how far they go...
It's been a while for me but that's the jist of it.

Good news - it worked perfectly!
Bad news - it's time-consuming. Took almost 5 minutes!! :-)
Thanks John.

Now I see - so I lay the guitar on a linty towel soaked with 1 cup of wine vinegar and a teaspoon of water. Let it set, then sand with 40 grit wet and dry. Or 60 grit if you're a purffechionist like me.

I have used Goof Off to remove pick guards. Work a little under an edge on a rag, peel up as you work a little more, and it will dissolve the glue, not hurt the lacquer finish.

Re: Your way of removing dried glue?
to pull pick guards I use a hair dryer . A small amount of heat will get that to release . Another great glue remover is ky jelly mixed with white vinegar . this works for tite bond , white and hot hide glue. .. Epoxy and CA need trained termites
