Tuning Machines Question

I am working on a 12-string kit from Martin.

I have 12 tuning machines. six RH and six LH.

They are all stamped with numbers.

On one side, I have 2 @ #1 and 4 @ #2

On the other, I have 2 @ #3 and 4 @ #4.

Do these numbers mean anything? All machines are stamped as 18:1, and the holes for the strings seem to be the same size.

Is there any guidance about how I should lay them out on the peg head?

As for pics... most of these are out there somewhere already...

But here is "the good, the bad, and the ugly" of this build so far...

Keep us updated on those pics. I don't see anything this ugly yet so you're ahead of me!

Ahhh... so the parts come out of a "multi-mould"... so 1's and 2's are the same and 3's and 4's are the same.

Cool.

Thanks for solving the mystery.
