The best way is to check your techniques. Make sample glue ups and allow 5 days to cure out and then add weight till failure.
Toothing a joint was an old practice and really is useless.

My understanding is the thinner the glue line the better. The glue would be less thick when glueing a smooth serface. Under magnification, even what we call a smooth sanded surface has a lot of pores.

Hello John ,,question you and I being former machinists, do you think that the same grade finish usually ( finer is better) in most cases,,,, with wood is ok for gluing to units together with a similar finish rough to rough and fine to fine?

the better the surface for glue the better you are. Planed surfaces are more true than sanded surfaces so if you a sanding board be sure the as as true as possible.

Question is blade scraping considered a (sort of an efficient method) way of finishing a plane finish or not.Also is that a sort of burnishing? If so what are the pros and cons of such an effort (scraping)?

I use a jointer plane
a jointer
and sandpaper on a granite plate

hand scraping may not be accurate enough

you can test fit the joint and hold up to see light. I have a light table but use the window pane on my door. No light , no see joint add glue and go
