Looks nice! On the technical side, is the binding joined to the armrest insert? Looks like one continuous piece.

The bottom binding and purfling are 1 continuous piece. Most of the bottom binding gets shaved away in the process. The top purfling is also a continuous piece. The koa armrest, matching the binding, is is a separate piece of koa laminated onto the internal Spanish Cedar block/kerfing. I learned the technique from the Kent Everett video.

Bob your armrest looks great. Ive yet to try it but i have the Everett video course as well.

Kevin- Still took awhile to figure it out, even with the video. Aging seems to have an unexpected affect on my ability to deal with mentally seeing odd shapes. In the end, a certain amount of luck came into play. You'll have fun with it!--Bob
