Thanks John. The jig is from Brian Forbes' book. You tape an already slotted fretboard (un tapered) to the new board. There is an index made from an old carpet knife blade that rides in the established board. It works quite well.

Looks like a good jig. I usually cut slots on the tablesaw, but when I have to do some by hand I have come to really like the Japanese style saws over backsaws. Just a thought. They both work, but the Japanese saw does not jam up as much. The Japanese saw is however a little fragile and the teeth can break off if you get too aggressive. They still cut great even missing a few teeth.

I use a radial arm saw
I have a jig for cutting I will have to get some pics. It is nice to share.
