GHS String Corrosion Update

Post by Diane Kauffmds »

As you know, there was a corrosion problem with strings that were packaged in the wrong paper, which has resulted in a lawsuit, launched against the paper manufacturer, by DR Strings, GHS Strings, and Mackley.

One of our fellow forum members, MaineGeezer, contacted GHS Strings to confirm that they're using new packaging. This was the response that he received from GHS Strings. (BTW, I highly recommend the GHS Vintage Bronze Strings; they have an outstanding tone.)

Here is the response from the GHS National Sales Manger:

"Thank you for your concern and loyalty. Yes this was an issue for us and we have taken the necessary steps to correct it. Our single strings are now packaged in nitrogen sealed packs. Boomers and Signature Bronze acoustics have been packaged this way since February. if you had received any sets with the old packaging and you still have them please let me know as we would like to get them back. We will also replace any sets you received with corrision. Working together we have resolved this issue.

Have a wonderful day.
